Brenebon mean red beans in english. In Manado, you can make brenebon be soup or ice and both is very DELICIOUS
Ingredients:
-.200 g red kidney beans, soak for 3 hours (Soaked over night)
-.1L water
-.3 cm cinnamon stick
Cocoa Syrup
-.225 g sugar (original used 250 g)
-.300 mL water
-.1 tsp chocolate paste (I substituted for 50 – 75g dark chocolate 70%, chopped)
Other Complements:
-.150 g chocolate condesed milk, for drizzling
-.shaved/crushed ice
Directions:
1. In a pot, add water, soaked red kidney beans and cinnamon stick. Cook until tender but not mushy. Drain and set aside.
2. Cocoa syrup: Mix the syrup ingredients. Bring to boil and set aside.
3. In dessert glasses, pour the cocoa syrup in. Place the beans and shaved ice . Drizzle the chocolate condensed milk over and served.

Tinutuan or Manado porridge is a typical Indonesian food from Manado, North Sulawesi. Some say tinutuan is the typical food Minahasa, North Sulawesi. Tinutuan is a mixture of various kinds of vegetables, do not contain meat, so that the food could be a food interaction among social groups in Manado. Tinutuan usually served for breakfast along with a variety of complementary cuisine.
Ingredients:
-.200 g rice, washed, drained
-.2 L of water
-.1 1/2 tsp salt
-.100 g of red sweet potatoes, peeled, diced 1 cm
-.100 g pumpkin, peeled, cut into 1cm dice
-.300 g of shelled corn
-.50 g of young leaves melinjo, wash
-.50 g spinach leaves, washed
-.25 g basil leaves, washed
Supplementary ingredients(optional):
-.150g salted fish, cut into ½ cm dice, wash, fry until dry.
-.Sambal Dabu-Dabu, mix together:
-.4 pieces of red chili, thinly sliced
-.6 fruit cayenne pepper, thinly sliced
-.4 red onions, cut into ½ cm dice
-.1 red tomato, diced ½ cm
-.2 tablespoons lime juice
-.1/2 tsp salt
Steps:
1.Cook the rice with water and salt until half-cooked. Enter the red potatoes, yellow squash, and corn and stir well.
2.Cook again until soft.
3.Add the remaining vegetables, while stirring gently until cooked and thick.
4.Lift. Serve porridge with complementary and Sambal Dabu-Dabu.

Manado Tua (Old Manado) Island, together with the islands of Bunaken, Siladen, Mantehage and Nain form the Bunaken - Manado Tua Marine National Park. The Park lies just off shore from the city of Manado, capital of the province of North Sulawesi. Covering a total of 89,065 hectares, the Bunaken-Manado Tua park is among the most spectacular dive sites in the world. The islands are separated from the mainland by a submarine trench that reaches a depth of 1,200 meters, and keeps these waters relatively free from city garbage and silt. The reserve is protected by law from spearfishing and coral or fish-collecting, as well as from dynamite fishing.
The island has some 3,200 inhabitants forming a tight-knit community of farmers and fishermen from the Sangir region. This community has been actively restoring damaged reefs with the assistance of Seacology. Around the island are underwater plateaus sloping from 5-30 meters, fringed by vertical coral walls plunging 25-50 meters down, and large caves with hanging coral reefs: a truly amazing sea garden.
Klapertart is a cake type from Manado. It mades from fresh milk, young coconut water,sugar,flour,maizena,custard powder,kutel,durian meats, and so many more. AYAM RICA - RICA
This speciality comes from Manado, North Sulawesi. Rica means chilli in local language. This region is well-known as their delicious spicy food. So it’s not unusual for them to cook the meal with lot of chillies. Ayam is Chichken in Bahasa indonesia and Rica is Chilli from Bahasa Manado.

Ingredients
– 1 whole chicken or 1 kg chicken, cut into 4 or 6 small pieces
– 1-2 tablespoons lime juice
– 2 small fresh tomatoes, cut into small pieces
– 2 fresh kaffir lime leaves – thinly sliced
– 1 stalk of lemongrass (sereh/serai), take the white part only
– 2 stalks of Basil Leaves (Lemon, Thai or European basil) – optional
– Salt and sugar to taste
Spice Paste
– 10 red chillies
– 5 bird’s eyes chillies
– 5 shallots or 1 small red onion
– 3 teaspoons grated ginger
Directions
1. Marinate the chicken with salt and lime juice and leave them for 30 minutes.
2. Heat 2 tablespoons vegetables oil in a wok over medium heat and sauté the spice paste until fragrant then add the tomatoes, kaffir lime leaves, lemon grass, salt , sugar and around 200 water. Add the chicken and cook half-done. Take the chicken from the sauce. Then add basil to the sauce and cook until the sauce is absorbed. Set aside.
3. Grill the chicken on a barbeque grill or in an oven over moderate heat until done. When it’s done serve with the rest of sauce.
4. Serving suggestion: can be eaten with plain rice , cooked vegetables with grated coconut, crispy rice flour cracker (rempeyek)

Bunaken Island
Bunaken is an 8.08 km² island in the Bay of Manado, situated in the north of the island of Sulawesi, Indonesia. Bunaken forms part of the administrative city of Manado, capital of North Sulawesi. The marine Park around Bunaken is part of the National Park that also includes the ocean around the island of Manado Tua, Siladen and Mantehage. In the Bunaken Marine Park, you will encounter a real “mermaid”, and you can also get a glimpse of sea life. Within the Bunaken Marine Park, visitors can see various strange and colourful marine life along its sea bed. To reach this park, you can take a motorboat. The journey from Manado takes around 40 minutes.
The translucent waters of the Bunaken seas enable people to clearly view numerous sea biota. There are 13 species of coral reefs in this park, dominated by edge ridges and block ridges of rocks. The most attractive view is the steep vertical sloppy coral reef that plunges down as deep as 25-50 meters. Feast your eyes on 91 types of fish found in the Bunaken National Park, amongst which are the locally known Gusimi Horse Fish (Hippocampus), the White Oci (Seriola rivoliana), Yellow-Tailed Lolosi (Lutjanus kasmira), Goropa (Ephinephelus spilotoceps and Pseudanthias hypselosoma), Ila Gasi (Scolopsis bilineatus) and others. Divers may also meet mollusk like the Giant Kima (Tridacna gigas), Goat Head (Cassis cornuta), Nautilus (Nautilus pompillius) and Tunikates/Ascidian.
For those who enjoy scuba diving, this is a great place to be. With about 20 dive spots to choose from, divers will have the chance to swim below the sea, and frolic joyfully while admiring the sea creatures. Most diving takes place near Bunaken and Manado Tua, because of the many excellent sites. The following are representative of dive spots in the area.Lekuan Walls (I, II, III)This long wall at Bunaken is divided into three sites: the Lekuan I, II and III. Together they are the park's best.
Steep walls are marked with deep crevices, sea fans and giant sponges. The shallows are filled with fishes. The wall, often protected from stronger currents, is frequented by bumphead parrotfish, turtles, and Napoleon wrasses. You can also explore the island on foot or you can take a boat to move from one dive site to the other Just walking around the beach is already a most enjoyable experience.

Get There
The island of Bunaken is easily reached from Manado by motorized boat, departing from Manado harbor, Molas, Kalasey and Tasik Ria beach. Ferries from Manado to Bunaken leave daily around 02:00 PM (depending on the tide), except on Sundays, when they leave from Pasar Jengki near the Manado harbor. The return journey from Bunaken to Manado usually leaves early in the morning, at around 07:00 AM - 08:00 AM. There are also charter boats that depart in the morning and return in the late afternoon. These are usually reserved for travel packages organized by agents or hotels.

This is Tuhan memberkati monument, Tuhan memberkati means Jesus blessing. This monument often likened to cristo retendor statue jesus sculpture which is located in rio de janeiro, brazil. this monument is located at Luxury Housing Citraland. Development goals of the statue not addressed only to the recipients of the majority in manado but also had meaning as a symbol of religion harmony. You can see this monument without paying it, but u can't get closer with the monument.
